As a Senior Systems Engineer at All Web Leads, you will be responsible for supporting our mission critical production infrastructure and help drive success by leading the technical research and development needed to enable continuous innovation within our infrastructure. A Senior Systems Engineer will collaborate with project teams on technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our Agile methodology. Communication and collaboration will include definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research and development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling out solutions. For a Senior Systems Engineer to be successful one must be effective in communicating the changes necessary to integrate new ideas within a complex ecosystem of data analytics.

Responsibilities:
Provide installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
Research and recommend automated approaches for system administration tasks. Manage our system gold imaging process for Enterprise class installations.
Identify innovate approaches for scaling horizontally and establishing a reference architecture for computing and storage resources need for our frontend web tier, data analytics OLAP environment, and distributed cache tiers.
Establish fundamentals and best practices for improving our existing monitoring and alerting infrastructure. Implement new methods and processes to gather key performance assessment measurements that will systematically reveal resource constraints and fuel recommendations for service area improvements.
Clearly state the problem through identifying stakeholders, requirements, and system functions; as well as be able to investigate alternatives for any evolution in the All Web Leads infrastructure.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Expert troubleshooting of Windows OS, IIS, SQL, Linux, Apache, PHP and other applications. Knowledge of all layers of the OSI model, most importantly the network (layer 3) and application (layer 7).
Manage a large, geo-distributed infrastructure in multiple datacenters on a highly virtualized stack running VMware Enterprise.
Provide 24x7 support by participating in an on-call rotation.
Install new software releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches.
Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
Requirements:
Excellent knowledge of Windows 2008 R2 server, MS Clustering Services, IIS 7.0, Active Directory (AD), DNS, SMTP, and TCP/IP.
Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux and CentOS, including repository management, system patching, and CLI configuration/administration. Familiarity with kickstart or other auto-system build tools.
Excellent knowledge of managing virtualized environment running on VMware, including but not limited to cloning, sysprep, producing golden images, patch deployment, disaster recovery, vMotion, and EVC (Enhanced vMotion Compatibility), SiteRecovery Manager.
Extensive experience with enterprise level backup and recovery solutions similar to EBS from HP, EMC Avamar, NetBackup Symantec.
Excellent experience with enterprise class monitoring and alerting solutions. Zyrion Traverse experience preferred.
Experience with Windows Deployment Services (WDS), Windows System Update Server (WSUS), and Secunia patch management services.
Experience with centralized system configuration management services similar to Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Puppet, cfEngine, Chef, ZenWorks, Platespin Orchestrator.
Extensive experience in configuring direct attached storage (DAS) through lun, multipath, and host bus adapters (HBAs), including the configuration of network attached storage (NFS, iSCSI, CIFS)
Experience with load balancing technologies similar to Cisco ACE, Citrix Netscaler, f5 BigIP, and Redline.
Experience with Microsoft development tools/languages (.NET, ASP, C#, Powershell, MSSQL)
Extensive experience in independently initiating and planning complex projects with multiple contributors and stakeholders.
Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills.
8+ years of experience in windows systems administration and 4+ years in Linux systems administration.
Bachelors degree in Information Science, Engineering, or Computer Science. Masters preferred.
